BBC ALBA Gaelic Digital Service
On 19 September 2008 the BBC in partnership with MG ALBA launched a tri-media Gaelic service consisting of:

BBC ALBA
A digital TV channel broadcasting Gaelic programmes daily

Programming includes news, Scottish sport, music, factual, children’s and entertainment programmes.

BBC Radio nan Gàidheal
The national Gaelic radio station from the BBC

Broadcast on radio in Scotland, streamed live and available on-demand at bbc.co.uk/radionangaidheal and as the sustaining service on digital TV when the BBC ALBA TV channel is off-air.

BBC ALBA Online

Viewing BBC ALBA

BBC ALBA is available on digital satellite. It will be available on digital cable in due course.

Freeview carriage is subject to review by the BBC Trust in 2010.

Some BBC ALBA programmes can also be seen on BBC TWO Scotland.

Programmes will be broadcast daily from 1700 – 2330 with audio from Radio nan Gàidheal when the station is off-air along with text and graphics from the BBC ALBA website.

BBC ALBA programmes will be subtitled in English, excluding those for children.

Gaelic on Freeview

If you are a freeview viewer in Scotland there is a daily Gaelic Digital TV channel in Scotland on Freeview channel 8 provided by TeleG. There are Gaelic programmes available each evening between 6-7pm. TeleG programmes have previously been shown on ITV and BBC analogue TV and digital satellite services in Scotland.
